While there are other factors in the trust equation that we haven’t covered yet (we’ll come back to them another time), we cannot overlook the importance of Consistency. It’s the accumulation of product, service, and experience that creates your guest’s perception of your brand. And it’s the Consistency of these things that leads to an overall trusted experience, i.e., A TRUSTED BRAND.

“A Brand Is… “a person’s perception of a product, service, experience, or organization.”

–Marty Neumeier, The Dictionary of Brand

“Your brand is the single most important investment you can make in your business.”

–Steve Forbes

People can go to see a movie anywhere. So how do you convince them to choose YOUR theatre? One of the strongest proven ways to differentiate yourself from your competition is by creating a consistently reliable trusted brand.

It may not seem as important to be doing all the little things, but it truly is doing all the little things consistently – like a clean restroom, positive guest service experience, available napkins – that accumulates to create YOUR TRUSTED BRAND.

It’s also important to note that Consistency is not just about doing the same thing over and over again, it’s about creating a standard of excellence and meeting that standard with every customer, every day.

Remember that for a Trusted Brand people will:

– Pay more
– Come back
– Tell others

This is what the movie theatre business is all about. Increased per caps, repeat customers and new customers is what we all strive for.

Once you gain your customer’s trust they not only return time and again, they tell their friends and family. That kind of customer loyalty and word-of-mouth promotion is one of the most powerful forms of marketing that exists!

IN CONCLUSION

So the good news is that by creating clarity, practicing compassion, and solidifying a positive work culture, you’ll create Consistency within your organization and be well on your way to creating or improving your TRUSTED BRAND.

But it’s important to note that all of this takes intentional action. Without intentionally working on, building, and maintaining trust within our business and with your guests, atrophy is guaranteed.

Remember, It’s not just about getting people to come out to see this weekend’s big movie premiere. It’s about getting them to come back all year long while also telling their friends and neighbors about how much they love your theatre.
